Emergency Lighting

At Bright Source, we adopt a unique approach to Emergency Lighting. We leverage industry partnerships in order to offer the most comprehensive range of products and systems for your project.

Working on behalf of our customer, we find the optimum solution for the specific project or premises. We work with leading UK and European manufacturers of emergency lighting products and systems, offering their systems in conjunction with the Bright Source design expertise.

Every building has a unique set of challenges, our expertise means we are able to advise and provide solutions for every type of emergency lighting system, from the most complex Central Battery Systems to the most simple self-contained solutions.

Wireless Addressable

Complying with emergency lighting testing is costly. Bright Source has a number of partnerships with UK and European manufacturers, meaning we can offer system options that all provide wireless, addressable, automatic testing. These are perfect for retro fitting, requiring no new cables to enable communications.

We ensure that all products are compliant with BS-60598-2-22 and can input into the design layout to ensure compliance to BS-5266.

Wired Addressable

Some clients prefer the comfort of wired communications. The wired testing systems that Bright Source can provide, generally require a simple two-core cable to be run between the fittings, this is used to initiate and manage the pre-programmed testing.

Wired systems are useful in applications where wireless signals could be problematic.

Static Inverters

Static Inverter systems are easily scalable, they convert DC battery power to a 230V AC output in the event of a mains failure, it is therefore easy to run any type of lighting without worrying about compatibility.

The range of Static Inverter systems that are provided by Bright Source are fully compliant with BS-EN-50171.

Static Inverters differ from UPS as they are specifically designed for emergency lighting usage.

When used with our configurable relay boxes, installation can be simplified and sub-circuit monitoring is easily taken care of.

Central Battery Systems

Central Battery systems for emergency lighting are available in a range of voltages and can provide additional benefits to clients, such as automatic test functionality, helping to drive down operational expenditure.

Central battery systems differ to Static Inverters as, in the event of a mains failure, they take the DC battery current to directly feed the luminaires. This means that connected luminaires must be able to operate at the same DC voltage as the system provides.

An advantage of using a DC system is that it allows use of the DC Dim feature. This is a means of running connected luminaires at a preset, dimmed level. This helps keep battery sizing down, benefiting the client through lower capital costs and reduced plant space requirements.

Dynamic Exit Signage

The latest in advanced life-safety systems. Dynamic exit signs can adapt to the situation as the environment changes.

Dependent on the system chosen, the arrow shown on the sign, can be used to block exits with a red cross or redirect people to the most appropriate route of exit. This is achieved through communication with the addressable fire alarm system. Areas containing fires or smoke are identified and communicated to the system, the signage responds accordingly to ensure people do not enter those problem areas.
