Our Approach

Bright Source UK provides comprehensive solutions for projects involving lighting, emergency lighting and lighting control systems. We treat every one of our clients as an individual, responding to their unique requirements and needs. We support contractors, specifiers, installers and end-clients, taking a holistic approach to projects to ensure the best outcome for everyone involved.

Using our expertise, we are able to offer low-energy, sustainable solutions. This is strengthened through the close relationships we have developed with our supply partners, allowing us to work hand in hand to maximise efficiencies across every project.

Lighting Scheme Design

Our expert design team will create a bespoke lighting scheme that optimises all spaces within the project. The team also look to minimise the number of luminaires required without compromising on the results, which helps to keep capital costs as low as possible. These design principles can also include the lighting controls and the emergency lighting systems.

We will provide supporting lighting calculations that demonstrate compliance with the scheme, full CAD drawings can be provided.

Emergency Lighting

As an important life saving system it is imperative that emergency lighting is designed and installed in line with guidance and legislation. The Bright Source team has extensive expertise within emergency lighting, and along with a number of partnerships with industry-leading specialists, we are in an excellent position to deliver a compliant system that suits your needs.

A lighting design scheme can be provided to evidence the calculations and demonstrate compliance with BS-5266.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Using this as a guiding principle, we can provide our clients with a ‘minimum touch’ system, offering programmable emergency lighting that is addressable and auto-testing. These systems are compliant with requirements defined in BS-EN-62034, which means the system would be tested in line with UK emergency Lighting testing regulations.

We have the ability to integrate modules for these addressable systems into the mains lighting that we supply. The incorporation of these modules can take place at our UK-based factory.

Bolstering our offer, we have the ability to deliver a wide range of options including;

  • Self-contained mains conversions (battery included within the mains light). These can be provided as a plug-and-play option or hard wired in our UK factory.
  • Stand-alone, dedicated self-contained lights (battery included within the emergency only luminaire)
  • BS-EN-50171 compliant Central Battery Systems. These are available with or without addressable, auto-testing functionality.
  • Addressable, self-contained auto-testing systems, whether DALI or alternative protocol. Wired and wireless options are also available.

Lighting Controls

Supporting the optimised lighting scheme design, we collaborate with a number of Lighting Control experts, allowing us to provide the most suitable solution for each and every project.

We recognise that the most efficient lighting stems from a basic requirement – one that switches off when it is not needed. We can provide everything from simple and straightforward occupancy sensors, to fully controllable scene-setting options that are addressable and report back on the savings achieved.

We always commit to fully understand a project’s needs before making recommendations. We also work closely with our partners to provide a fully specification-compliant option.

Product Testing

At our UK manufacturing site, we made a significant investment in a testing facility. This means we are able to check and verify that products perform to their published data values, prior to being released to clients. We want our customers to be 100% confident that when the product arrives on site, it performs exactly as expected.
